This Is How You Should Pray

Are you like me and more times than not when you are in your personal prayer time you find yourself lost and not knowing how to pray or what fo say.

This is where I have two suggestions for all of us to try.

First, we ask the Holy Spirit to help us, and if you are baptized in the Holy Spirit you can in your prayer language (tongues).

Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God. Romans 8:26-27

Second, there are multiple examples of prayers throughout the scriptures.  Jesus himself gave us a very specific example. I have used it as a pattern  that we can easily follow step by step. (The full passage is quoted below for reference.)

  • Hallowed (Holy, sanctified) be Your Name
    • THANKS
    • PRAISE
    • WORSHIP
  • Forgive us our sins – Repentance
    • SELF
    • CHURCH
    • NATION
  • Your Kingdom Come, Your will be done ( REVIVAL,  DELIVERANCE,  HEALING]
    • Personal
    • Region
    • Country
    • Pray for Israel
    • World
  • And do not lead us into temptation,
  • Give us Wisdom and guide our steps.
    • Your word is a lamp to my feet And a light to my path. Psalms 119:105
  • Deliver us from evil
    • For though we walk in the flesh, 2 Corinthians 10:3-5
    • ‘Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ says the Lord of armies. Zechariah 4:62
  • Give us this day our daily bread
    • Needs of Others
    • Personal Needs
  • For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever.
    • PRAISE AND WORSHIP
    • GIVE HIM THANKS FOR HEARING AND ANSWERING.

I hope you find these encourage and help you as you spend time with him. Another, tool we can use is praying the Bible. There is a section here on the Revival Watch site that is several examples of doing so. The link is HERE.

May you blesses as you seek the face and not just the hand of our loving Heavenly Father.

Matthew 6:9-13

[9] In this manner, therefore, pray: Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. [10] Your kingdom come. Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven. [11] Give us this day our daily bread. [12] And forgive us our debts, As we forgive our debtors. [13] And do not lead us into temptation, But deliver us from the evil one. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.

Psalms 100:4

[4] Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, And into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His name.
