Be on the alert then, because you do not know the day nor the hour.  Matthew 25:13

It doesn’t take a great theologian to observe the days and times in which to realize that these truly are dark times and they only seem to be getting darker. If we were to read and really dig into the scriptures, especially Matthew 24 and Jesus’ own words and warnings I believe we would very quickly and easily see that we are definitely in the “Last Days.” My dear friends, brothers and sisters, let us not go through life blind and ignorant of what is going on all around us, rather let us be sober minded, alert and ready for His imminent return. 

I pray that we be found to be like the prudent virgins who were diligent and ensured that they were prepared and had oil for the waiting. 

What does it mean to “be ready and prepared” for His return? Let me offer a few ideas.

• Love and devote yourself to Him above ALL other things and people. 
• Seek HIM First
  • Seek the Lord while he may be found; call on him while he is near.  Isaiah 55:6
  • But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness,  Matthew 6:33
• Living Sacrifice – Surrender and Submit to His Authority and Leadership
  • ‘Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will. ‘  Romans 12:1-2
• Keep His Commandments
  • If you love me, keep my commands.  John 14:15
  • Make every effort to live in peace with everyone and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord.  Hebrews 12:14
• Watch and Pray
  • Be always on the watch, and pray that you may be able to escape all that is about to happen, and that you may be able to stand before the Son of Man.”  Luke 21:36
  • The end of all things is near. Therefore be alert and of sober mind so that you may pray.  1 Peter 4:7
• Make Disciples
  • Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,   Matthew 28:19
  • Through him we received grace and apostleship to call all the Gentiles to the obedience that comes from faith for his name’s sake.   Romans 1:5

Each of the above concepts has so much depth in and of itself. As you read and meditate on them I encourage you to pray and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal the secret wisdom of the Father hidden within them. 

Dear ones, the KING IS COMING! There is absolutely no questioning that. The real question is “Will we be ready when He does?” My prayer is that this message encourages and gives you some direction on how to make sure that you are ready.
