Praying the Bible
The idea of praying the Bible may be a completely foreign concept for some if not many of you. However, if we take a look through the scriptures the longest book in the Bible is exactly that: a collection of prayers and songs. There are various other example of specific prayers spoken by many different individuals in both the Old and New Testaments. This includes more than one example of Jesus himself praying to the Father. When we pray we often wonder, am I praying according to the will of God? If you are praying the scriptures, then you can be assured that is exactly what you are doing. With that in mind, below you will find some examples of where I have started with a passage of Scripture and “prayed into it.” These examples are from a couple years ago, but I still hope they encourage you to give this a try in your personal prayer time. I hope to add more to this collection moving forward. The link is to an online version, but each example also has a pdf version that can be downloaded and printed.
