‘He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.’ 2 Corinthians 5:21

When I very first started considering this verse and were I was going to go with this message I saw this message going really deep and rich into the original language of a number of specific words within it. Well, and to be honest, we may still end up there. But, for now I want to take an approach that I have on a number of other occasions and simply begin with an expanded translation / paraphrase of the verse with the support of the original language.

He, the Almighty, Creator and Father of All, made Him, Jesus, the Christ, His one and only Son, that had no personal experience with sin, He was perfect and totally without sin, to take on, and bear the weight and punishment of of the sin, failure,  and rebellion of all mankind with the purpose that we would be transformed from the broken, sinful and evil people that we were into being righteous, complete, whole and restored because of our faith, surrender, and reliance not in our own actions and efforts, but on His sacrifice on our behalf.

I do believe this is a message that I will be coming back to in the very near future, but for now I hope and pray that this gives you something to meditate and “chew on.”
